I know this blog is several people’s source for GLTAS news, and we have been silent on SMGO lately, mostly because the mods are super busy (hello my summer convention season) and frankly, this thing is complicated. I encourage checking our #SMGO tag for the past statements and source links from your mods on this.
I am not going to tell anyone they definitely should or definitely should not pledge to donate. The issue is complicated, and therefore I encourage long and hard thought on making that decision for yourself. Do not demonize people for making one choice or the other because there are valid points across the board.
The current SMGO campaign [link] has 75 days remaining to raise $10,000,000 in pledges. This campaign is ONLY for bringing back Young Justice. Despite the misleading hashtags on the header graphic, none of the pledges collected will be used towards Green Lantern: The Animated Series, other DC Nation shows, or Star Wars: The Clone Wars. (SW fans and Greg Weisman fans, read this news [link].) Some people have been making posts indicating this pledge drive is for both, and that is not the case. It is understandable SMGO is starting with the cheapest show they know the production cost for. The campaign with YJ is a potential make-or-break-it move for the entire SMGO model, so they are trying to rally the entirety of their user base around it.
