PUT ME DOWN, FILTHY DIB-HUMAN!

Fast-forward a few years into the IZ universe, and you get Dib taking advantage of his height difference. Poor little alien doesn’t stand a chance. [At least, not until those retractable pak-legs whip out…]

Spoilerish fan art for hideousblobofstolenorgans’s latest Hypothetical chapter [6].
Seriously. If you’re an Invader Zim fan, and you’re not reading her story, YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON SOME INTENSE WRITING. Seriously.

Cassie. Look what you keep making me do…
For my followers who are into the show, Invader Zim, I HIGHLY suggest reading [all] the fan fiction cassiesstickerstories/Alohilani/HideousBlob has written. She does an incredible job of keeping the characters true to their natures, and her stories Experimental & Hypothetical [which these doodles are based on] are pulse-spikingly splendid, psychological adventures.
If you dig her fan fiction & stuff, check out her original comic, Kila Ilo too!

I think Rembrandt’s ghost came into my room and kicked me in the head for doing this.
Anyways, this is my little entry for Cassie’s minicontest. We had to draw/write something that explained what was going on in this picture. Originally, I was going to draw something much more dark, but I decided to do something more humorous… [In-between that picture and this, Zim scooted over and donned his human disguise, as the prof. & viewers came in.]
Why yes, there are some cameos in there.
Based upon Rembrandt’s painting, The anatomy lesson.

Voting is now open for the WeLoveFine “Invader Zim Tee Design Contest”!

My two designs are featured here. If you like them enough that you would sport them on a t-shirt, please VOTE! I am forever grateful to those of you who do. Even if you don’t like my designs, check out the gallery, ‘cause there are some really neat ones done by other artists too.

You can view the process behind the creation of one of the designs here.

more designs I really wanted to win that didn’t win. :(

Aww, no worries. <3 It’s a shame they didn’t pick your design with Skoodge in it! They just picked the stuff that looked most like the official style, I have determined. Though I am greatly disappointed by GIR winning the grand prize… Don’t get me wrong, it’s a funny and well-made piece, but there is ENOUGH GIR merchandise out there now. Where’s the Zim love? ;~;

Had the Lilo & Stitch OST stuck in my head, and I had Invader Zim on the mind. They melded into this super-quick drawing. [I don’t ship Lilo & Dib together, but I do think they could have some cute, relate-able interactions!]
It also appears that Stitch has found a new chew toy.

School labs can be dangerous. One would think Zim would be more careful with sharp objects… He must be surprised that Dib is helping clean the wound.
Perhaps he should consider that Dib has an ulterior motive.
Looks like Dib’s gonna be keeping Gaz up all night, babbling about how he finally got a blood sample from the alien invader.

Follow-up to this piece.
Dib gets fed up with the level of their brawl, and Zim discovers the drawbacks of being shorter than his opponent. After much fidgeting, Zim gives in. I must challenge the logic of having GIR play doctor, though…
[The last one is actually a poke at myself. When I sketched that first piece, I didn’t realize I had given the rivals the same injuries on the same sides of their bodies.]

Just scribbling aimlessly on my tablet, creating shapes to then “find” and draw a picture from the scribble. This is what I saw. Something is wrong with me.
Although, Zim gets picked on so much in the show, there would have to be a point where he physically lashes back in a not-so-humorously-pleasant manner. I imagine Dib might be shocked by a more brutal form of retaliation…

Created for the t-shirt contest on WeLoveFine. I had a blast illustrating this piece, and I wanted to show the process of making it. [All done in Photoshop CS5 with a Wacom Intuos3 tablet over the course of 3 days.]

1 | Rough concept sketch :: made without using references
2 | Refined sketch :: looked at references to keep the characters on-model [Mini Moose didn’t make the cut]
3 | Inked line art :: I learned how amazing the pen tool can be… <3
4 | Flat colors :: you can see how I originally laid the palette out, then reduced the number of colors to keep a simple range
5 | Final :: all shading & tweaks done!

If you like this piece, please be sure to support it, once the ratings open. :)

Quick sketch depicting a scene from cassiesstickerstories’s Invader Zim fan fiction, “Experimental.”Excerpt from chapter 11 ::
“Zim looked like he was on the verge of unconsciousness… it seemed unwise to expect him to be able to walk out of the building under his own power. Dib scooped him up in his arms. Zim went limp with a little sigh. He felt like a warm sack of bones, and looked like he was feeling very sorry for himself. He was very damp. Dib would assume all that wetness was blood, and not consider other possibilities. It was probably all blood anyway… his shoulder didn’t seem to be bleeding now, though. Must be some Irken biology thing.”
I highly recommend reading her work; she keeps all the characters true to their personalities, and her pacing keeps the suspense heightened!

—-::—-Zim could not understand. His mind desperately tried to wrap around what his Tallest told him. Sure, maybe they had scoffed at him, but Zim never considered, not even for a second, that they meant what they said. After all, the Tallest loved pranks.
Yes, this was clearly a prank.
As the elevator lifted him to the living room, his mind raced for evidence. Maybe this was another test to prove his supreme invader skills. Yet… he had already proven that on Hobo13.
Shuffling past the television, scenario after scenario running through his head, Zim’s thoughts were interrupted by screaming. GIR motioned for him to get out of the way. Sounds of explosions erupted from the TV, causing GIR to toss the green alien aside in his eagerness to see what was happening.
Gritting his teeth, Zim clawed the front door open and slammed it behind him. How was he to think clearly with such noisy noises?! His anger soon ebbed, though, when his thoughts turned again to what his Tallest had said.
Perhaps their words were not said in jest this time. Maybe they meant it.
Such an idea made Zim sink down on the front step. Why would the Tallest say such a thing to the most amazing invader? Unless it was true.
The realization struck him. For a moment, he just stared at his hands. What had he been doing here? Was not his job to destroy Earth? To fulfill his duty as an invader? Now it was all for naught.
Despair took hold as Zim lowered his head into his hands.
Why had he come to this filthy planet?
It was then that he sensed someone strolling up the walkway. Opening his eyes, Zim immediately recognized the boots of his sworn enemy. He had no time to recover before Dib mockingly inquired about his strange behavior.—-::—-
Short concept I sketched out earlier in the year. I really liked how it turned out, so I figured I’d share. Excuse the shoddy writing, though. xD
