fight fire with fire

Another old piece finally finished! FIRE FLAKES, Zuko was giving me such trouble in this painting. Lost count of how many times I re-painted his body. Regardless, it was fun working on it today!

Inspired by Giancarlo’s tweet & inbetweenthelineart’s post.

Forced myself to sit down and work on the color scheme for this piece [FINALLY, Rosie, you lazy bum]. Frustrated at first, but as I continued laying down colors, I felt more and more confident with what I was doing.

[Oh, and I re-drew Zuko’s left arm. The previous angle was driving me insane!]

Been listening to the song ‘Fight Fire With Fire’ by Kansas on repeat while working on this piece. The song popped up on iTunes DJ yesterday, and I had sudden inspiration— FIREBENDING.

Then, I realized I’ve never made any serious fan art of my favorite American TV show, Avatar: The Last Airbender. I am now remedying that.

Also, trying that method of working in grayscale & adding color later.
